Online dating no longer carries a social stigma. I used free online dating sites when I was single and met a lot of quality women through them.
Plenty of Fish (http://www.plentyoffish.com) - Where I met my wife :). The largest of the free dating sites.
OK Cupid (http://okcupid.com/) - A very large and active site. I used this site with some success when I was single.
Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org/) - The Personals section is very busy.
